The Palladian villas of Veneto are villas designed by architect Andrea Palladio in the 16th century. Most villas are protected by UNESCO as part of a World Heritage Site named City of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto. Palladio's work was strongly based on the symmetry, perspective and values of the formal classical temple architecture of the Ancient Greeks and Romans. From the 17th century Palladio's interpretation of this classical architecture was adapted as the style known as Palladianism
We suggest a half-day tour or a full day tour to visit one or more of these wonderful villas:
VILLA CAPRA LA ROTONDA, one of the most well-known and famous building of the modern architecture, richly painted in fresco in the walls and magnificent stuccoes in the ceiling. The building is surrounded by a landscape garden of English style. This villa is open inside only on wednesday and Saturday, during the rest of the week you can admire the beautiful garden.
Just a few minutes, walking along a beautiful path from Villa Capra la Rotonda and we will reach Villa Valmarana ai Nani and its frescoes by Tiepolo.
In the afternoon we will have a walk in Vicenza which is a Unesco Heritage site.
